An earthbox – My mother gave me one as a gift, but you can order one online at www.earthbox.com/. 2. Plants – Look for your local nursery and spends some time wandering around looking for things you’ll either want to see and smell or eat frequently. I had plants forced on to me last summer and ended up really enjoying growing my own herbs and vegetables in particular so I looked for edibles at one of the many independent plant stores in my neighborhood. I bought lemon verbana, sweet basil, purple basil, tomatilla, arugula and tarragon from a nursery a few blocks from my home. I believe that you can plant up to eight items in the box, and you’re encouraged to plant edible items. I have a large basket on my bike so I biked all of the seedling plants home, which I have to admit greatly added to the fun of the project. As I discovered in the process, you’ll probably also need: 3. Measuring cup 4. Ruler 5. Scissors or knife 6. Plastic bags 7. A big tub or bucket 8. A small plastic dish with walls 9. A tea kettle or watering can Set up your box in a place that will get as much sun as possible. What you don’t get in the instructions, though, is a

Affordable Home Remodeling

Not all remodeling (http://www.customrenovate.com/) contractors are created equally. Custom Renovations, Inc (http://www.customrenovate.com/). has over 20 years experience in remodeling homes in the Raleigh-Durham area; one of the fastest growing areas in the nation. We have completed numerous kitchen remodeling, room and deck additions (http://www.customrenovate.com/), and bathroom remodeling (http://www.customrenovate.com/) projects all over the Triangle area. Throughout the years, we have learned what clients look for when choosing a general contractor. These five tips can help you save money and avoid headaches.

1) Theory to Practice

With the downward trend of new home sales and construction, many general contractors are flocking to the home remodeling (http://www.customrenovate.com/) industry. The transition from new home construction seems natural enough, but the principles are not necessarily the same. As company with over 20 years of experience in the Raleigh home (http://www.customrenovate.com/) remodeling market, Custom Renovations, Inc (http://www.customrenovate.com/) understands both the theory and practice of home renovation.

Remodeling contractors should not only be eager to compete for your project, but they must also be able to let you know if a particular upgrade may not be best for your home.

2) Experience

Unlike most industries, experience in home remodeling (http://www.customrenovate.com/) does not mean you will have to pay more. Experience shows the longevity of a business, and means that the company or contractor is more than a “fly by night” operation. Experienced home remodeling contractors are more likely to give an accurate time frame for completion and estimate. It also means that the contractor has a set of established subcontractors that they can trust to provide the best services to clients/homeowners.

3) References

Do not just fall for a fancy website or advertisement when it comes to selecting a remodeling contractor – get references. Your home is your investment, so ask to see actual images of kitchen remodeling (http://www.customrenovate.com/) projects, bathroom remodeling projects, deck additions, room additions (http://www.customrenovate.com/), and so on. You will need to know if the contractor has previous experience with homes in your area and your price range.

Many remodeling contractors will be able to provide a list of past and current clients that you may contact. Some also carry a physical or electronic portfolio of work they have completed.

4) Full Scope

Television has a tendency of sensationalizing the hard work and effort that goes into home remodeling. It is for that reason that many individuals with “handyman” skills attempt to persuade uninformed homeowners that they can handle major home renovation (http://www.customrenovate.com/) projects. The process of home remodeling involves building to meet specific building codes and regulations. A good contractor understands the full scope of the project, and not just the hammer and nails. They are familiar with city or area codes and ordinances that may impact project completion.

5) Follow Up

Any homeowner willing to invest thousands of dollars into a home remodeling project should expect the contractor to follow up 3, 6, and 12 months following project completion. Time has a way of impacting construction materials and revealing unexpected flaws. A good contractor understands and anticipates any issues that may arise. Follow up is greatly impacted by a company’s experience and longevity. By hiring an experienced contractor, you can trust that the company will be around if issues do arise.

When choosing the right furniture for your home it is always important to have some sort of guide to assist you and give you a better understanding of how to choose the perfect items that will match your home. Furniture is not just about designs and styles, they are a significant part of the home. Think of a house without a furniture, you cannot easily call that a house. Furniture are like the organs of the home, they make your house functional and worthy to be lived in. They fill the emptiness of a house for it to be called a home.

There’s a lot of home furniture that you can choose from and there are certain furniture that are used for every part of your home. If you just had a brand new house or planning to redecorate, it is important to know the tips and tricks of finding the perfect furniture, price, style and usage included. The first part of the home that you may want to be decorated is the living room. This is probably the center of any house. The living room is where you accept your guests and where you mostly bond with the family. A piece of the living room that should always be present is the sofas or armchairs. These are usually where the rest of the furniture will based on. The beauty of buying sofas from a home furniture store is that they come in different styles, color, sizes and make. Choosing the sofa for your place is fun! You can go into any kind of design as long as it can match your home. Choose the sofa that you are most comfortable with and can fit into your place. Unlike a few years ago where sofas have a distinct traditional look, nowadays, they can come in fun shapes and designs. It’s up to your to find the perfect one!

Home bedroom furniture is easy to look out for. Usually the main point in bedroom furniture is the bed. This is easy furniture to look for because your bedroom is your personal area and you can choose whatever you want without the hesitation of being judged by other people. Like the sofas, comfort is the best quality you want to look for in a bed. Find the suitable bed that has a good foam. The foam is a big factor to the comfort level of the bed. Try out these foams and never forget to check the material that the bed is made of. Beds nowadays can be made from various woods or metal. Wooden beds can last very long although they can take up a lot of space. Steel beds are also a good choice. They are not as sturdy as the wooden beds but they are also of good quality and can be very good space savers.

Home bathroom furniture can also be found in a lot of furniture stores. Choose quality bathroom furniture that can last for a long time. You may want to get a set to have a more themed look in your bathroom. Usually, a lot of stores offer good furniture at reasonable prices. Home decor furniture basically means all the furniture that you put in your house. This does not indicate that it is just for decoration but also its usage. You would not want to get an item just because it looks great to look at but because it can be put to use and at the same time add class to your home.

Home Improvement Remodeling

What to add and what not to add is the question every home owner seeking improvement will ask. Home improvement involves the reorganization and upgrading of the indoor and outdoor environment.

For a lot of home owners, the landscaping is really important. Landscaping influences the mood or aura of your home, a home with a pool and a fountain translates to a tranquil and serene environment. Moreover, a garden that is well kept with beautiful landscaping could be an attraction to homebuyers when and if you do eventually decide to put your home on the market.

Home improvements are a great investment in your house and you get a more comfortable and beautiful home in the process. There are two main methods of home improvement; you could choose to do a complete overhaul of your home or just do a remodeling project.

Home improvement remodeling is much less expensive than a complete overhaul and could be anything from changing your kitchen floors to changing the heating system in your home.

The kitchen is one of the more popular home improvement remodeling projects. The areas for remodeling in a kitchen are vast and there is always something extra you could do to enhance the look of your kitchen and add more value to the home as a whole. Some kitchen home improvement remodeling projects could be as complex as placing an island in a kitchen that had none before or could be simply refacing existing cabinets.

The bathroom is another area that is the focus of home improvement remodeling. There is just so much that can be done in a bathroom. You could simply change the tiles and there are many tiles to choose from including ceramic tiles or you could change the whole look of the bathroom; add an oriental or eastern feel to your bathroom.

You could also decide on an addition to your existing home such as a patio. You might want to change the look of our present patio or add a patio where one did not previously exist. Concrete slabs are quite common even though tiles of different materials are gradually gaining popularity.

Whatever form of home improvement remodeling you eventually decide to engage in, it is realy important to make sure that you are making the most of your money. This should be done by ensuring that the materials you are using are of the highest quality, to avoid your having to replace materials soon after the project is done. Furthermore, working with a qualified and reputable home improvement company is imperative to make certain that you are getting value for your money.

Home improvement means that you are adding value to your home, which translates as a prudent investment. You get the added advantage of living in a beautiful environment that affords you maximum comfort.
